Let ‘Em Play Foundation History:
The Let ‘Em Play Foundation was created in 2012 by the Portland Basketball Officials Organization (PBOA) to honor the 36 year career of then commissioner Howard Mayo by providing scholarships that pay the participation fees for students playing High School basketball at schools serviced by the PBOA who otherwise might not be able to participate.
Since it’s inception, the funds for the foundation have come mostly from members of the PBOA.
In 2015, the Let ‘Em Play Foundation became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization separate from the PBOA with the same original goal of providing financial help to student athletes in order to “Let ‘Em Play!”
